FAQS

Breathwork

Still got a question?...

Breathwork

Do I need any experience?

Not at all. Lots of people who come along have never tried breathwork before. I’ll guide you through every step, and you can go at your own pace. You are always in control of your own breath

What happens in a Pure Calm class?

You’ll spend most of the class lying down, in low lighting, with calming music & essential oils. I guide you through calming, restorative breathing techniques that are generally accessible for most people, with NSDR (non-sleep deep rest) & a short Indian Head Massage moment of around 30 seconds to a minute, depending on numbers. We finish with a poem. I don’t use conscious connected breathing in group settings, & you’re always welcome to return to your natural breath or pause at any point. Come as you are, get comfy & let yourself slow down.

What should I wear or bring?

Comfortable, loose clothing you can fully relax in. A bottle of water. A yoga mat or something cushioned to lie on. A blanket.

Also recommended: a small pillow, eye mask or eye pillow, and a cosy pair of socks.

For private sessions, all props & equipment are provided, with herbal tea to finish.

Where do the sessions take place?

Pure Calm & ChaLa sessions run at:

  • The Parish Centre, 14 Exeter Road, Newmarket, CB8 8LT

  • Gardiner Memorial Hall, High Street, Burwell, CB25 0HD

Guided Breathwork for Calm takes place at:

R3FORM Marleigh, Cambridge | every other week, booked direct with R3FORM

1:1 & private sessions are usually held in your own home, across Cambridgeshire & Suffolk.

Is there parking?

Yes, free parking is available directly outside all of the venues I teach at.

For 1:1 & private sessions, I come to you.

Is breathwork suitable for everyone?

Breathwork is gentle & restorative, but it isn’t right for everyone. If you have a heart or lung condition, are pregnant or have any other health concerns, please check with your healthcare provider before attending, & let me know about any injuries or health conditions when you book so I can look after you properly.

Can I come if I’m pregnant?

The techniques I use are calming & gentle, & much of a session is spent lying down, so I’ll help you find a position that feels comfortable for you, for example propped up with cushions. Please check with your midwife or healthcare provider before attending, & let me know when you book so I can set you up.

Can under 18s come?

Sessions are primarily for those aged 18 & over. If you’re considering breathwork for someone under 18, please contact me before booking so we can talk about their age & individual needs.

What’s the difference between Pure Calm & ChaLa?

Pure Calm is a 45 or 60-minute public class each session weaves together guided breathwork, short Indian Head Massage techniques & NSDR, with calming scents & beautiful music.

ChaLa is a 2-hour wellness experience of yoga & breathwork, led by me & my best friend Charlie from Yogi Yoga Time. The name means “to rest” or “to relax”, & that’s exactly what we’re aiming for. Expect grounding flow yoga, calming breathwork, NSDR (non-sleep deep rest) & short Indian Head Massage techniques, with soulful music & essential oils. You’re welcomed with a wellness shot on arrival, & we finish with herbal tea & time to enjoy the benefits of the session. It’s a full sensory experience, designed to help you slow down, unwind & reconnect.

Sessions run monthly, usually on the last Sunday of the month (dates can vary), alternating between the Parish Centre in Newmarket & the Gardiner Memorial Hall in Burwell. See the booking page for dates.

Can I book a session for two, or for a group?

Yes, I’d love that. Private sessions for two are 70 minutes (£75), & private groups of up to 8 are 75 minutes (£300). Just get in touch to arrange a date.

Do you come to my home for 1:1 sessions?

Yes. My 1:1 breathwork sessions are usually held in the comfort of your own home. They incorporate short Indian head massage techniques and NSDR, and we finish with a herbal tea.

Can I book an Indian Head Massage on its own?

Indian Head Massage is most often offered as an extra 30 minutes added to a 1:1 breathwork session [100 minutes in total, £80). If you’re local, I can sometimes offer it as a standalone treatment, so please get in touch to check availability. This treatment is performed seated, targeting the upper back, shoulders, neck, arms, hands, face & scalp, & uses natural oils.

What’s your cancellation policy?

With 48 hours’ notice or more, I’m happy to transfer you to another date or refund you. Between 48 & 8 hours, I can transfer you, subject to availability.

Less than 8 hours, or no-shows, are unfortunately not refundable or transferable.

Health coaching has its own terms in the coaching agreement.

Online

Do you offer online sessions?

Yes. There are live Breathe Into… group sessions, & Virtual 1:1 sessions of 15, 30 or 45 minutes. These all take place via Zoom.

Each session is 20-30 minutes & costs £4-£5.

What do I need at home?

A quiet, comfortable space, a device with sound (headphones help) & something cosy to sit or lie on. Breathe into Sleep & Breathe into Your Day are often joined from bed, so feel free to keep your camera off.

Do I need a Zoom account?

No. Sessions take place on Zoom, & you’ll just need the link I send you.

Health Coaching

What is the Nourish Programme?

A 6-week programme designed to help calm your nervous system & build simple, sustainable habits that support your energy, resilience & wellbeing

What’s the difference between Nourish & Nourish & Breathe?

Nourish & Breathe adds breathwork. To get the most out of it, I recommend Nourish & Breathe in person, but I’m happy to offer it online without the Indian Head Massage techniques & herbal tea, with the price adjusted accordingly.

Can I combine health coaching with breathwork?

Yes, absolutely. The combined option is an immersive experience, ideal if you're going through a high-pressure time. You get the calming effect of breathwork alongside habits that help the calm last.

Who is it for?

High-achieving women & professionals who are tired of “pushing through” & ready to move from burnout to balance, one small step at a time. If you’re the one everyone relies on, juggling work, family or both, & running on empty, this is for you. And yes, you are a high achiever! Many of the people I work with don’t see themselves that way at first.

Is it in person or online?

Both. Online coaching is available UK wide, and in person across Cambridgeshire & Suffolk.

Is health coaching medical advice?

No. I’m a trained health coach, not a registered nutritionist or dietitian, & coaching doesn’t replace medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. If I feel something is beyond my scope, I’ll gently refer you to your GP or another suitable professional.

How do I get started?

Book a free discovery call via “Book a session” in the main menu. We’ll have a chat & see if it’s the right fit, with no obligation. Discovery calls are usually Monday to Wednesday afternoons, so please get in touch if those times don’t suit.

Booking, Payments & Gift Vouchers

How do I book?

Classes can be booked online via “Book a session”. For private sessions, press “Enquire” & I’ll be in touch to arrange a date.

What if I can’t make my session?

With 48 hours’ notice or more, I’m happy to transfer you to another date or refund you. Between 48 & 8 hours, I can transfer you, subject to availability. Less than 8 hours, or no-shows, are unfortunately not refundable or transferable. Health coaching has its own terms in the coaching agreement.

How do I pay?

Classes are paid for online at the time of booking.

For my health coaching programmes, 1:1, private sessions & vouchers you can pay by card or BACS.

Do you offer gift vouchers?

Yes, for Pure Calm & ChaLa. These need to be used within 6 months. For any other vouchers or a wellness gift please get in touch.

Can I buy a block of sessions?

They work best used weekly or every other week, so you build a steady rhythm.
